What measures is DutchDubai taking?

To limit the spread of coronavirus the entire DutchDubai team is working from home, both in the Netherlands and in the United Arab Emirates. Meetings with colleagues and partners are all being held online.

Developments of the Dutch pavilion at the Expo 2020 site

The Netherlands is committed to the health and well-being of the construction workers involved. We are therefore taking extra precautionary measures at the construction site and at the construction workers’ accommodation:

a) All hygiene measures prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as by the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), are applied at the construction site and at the accommodation.

b) In addition, extra hygiene measures are in place at the construction workers’ accommodation. Furthermore, shift teams are separated at their accommodation and a separate quarantine room has been set up to prevent the spread of symptoms (starting with cold symptoms)

c) Worker’s temperatures are measured at the start of each shift.

All construction workers have been given clear instructions on what they must do to prevent the virus from spreading. We are of course closely monitoring all coronavirus-related developments and may take further measures based on the latest situation in the Netherlands and Dubai.

Is coronavirus affecting the planning for Expo 2020?

The countries taking part in Expo 2020, the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) and the Expo 2020 organisers are closely monitoring the situation. If any decisions are made concerning the progress of the event we will share them as soon as possible.

Stay safe

We hope that all the measures being taken around the world will ensure that we can soon put this crisis behind us and focus on the future. Our theme is connecting. Let’s make sure we keep on connecting in these difficult times.
