We proudly introduce and welcome Bom Group as a new sponsor of the Dutch pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Bom Group is one of the most innovative greenhouse construction companies in the sector today. The company has more than 50 years of experience, a diverse portfolio spanning the globe and completed projects in every climate zone. Over the years, it has introduced numerous groundbreaking innovations that have become the standard in their field. Next month, one of their high-tech 4.5 hectare tomato and leafy vegetable production facilities will be opened in Dubai.
Sponsoring the Dutch pavilion was a natural choice for the Bom Group, as they are specialists in designing and developing sustainable greenhouse systems. ‘We are extremely proud to be able to contribute the growing of vegetables on the food cone to the pavilion,’ commercial director John Meijer says. ‘Visitors to the Dutch pavilion will be able to see what a small country is capable of. It will showcase solutions that unite water, energy and food. The pavilion is a perfect match with our own greenhouse projects, which also optimise energy and water use for food production. The Netherlands is one of the leading countries in horticulture and in the year-round production of fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers under glass, independent of local climate, with minimum inputs of energy and water.’
About the pavilion
The Dutch pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai will open in less than a year. The circular pavilion is devoted entirely to innovation in the fields of water, energy and food. Dutch businesses, knowledge institutions and civil society organisations have specific knowledge and expertise in these areas and can therefore play a key role in finding solutions that contribute to a more sustainable planet. Visitors can experience how a combination of unique innovations allows us to grow food, harvest water and generate electricity, even in Dubai’s harsh climate.
Expo 2020 Dubai and the Dutch pavilion will be open to visitors from October 2021 to April 2022.
